About Me…

I’m Julianne, a passionate professional in nutrition and functional medicine, committed to helping you unlock your fullest potential. As a Physician Assistant with a Bachelor’s in Nutrition and Dietetics and a Master’s in Nutrition and Functional Medicine, I blend the best of traditional medicine with lifestyle-based approaches to provide comprehensive, personalized wellness care.

Despite being a picky eater growing up, my love for nutrition blossomed thanks to my dad’s organic garden and my mom’s amazing cooking. Watching her heal from rheumatoid arthritis through the power of food further inspired me to become a PA-C, empowering others to explore solutions beyond pharmaceuticals. I’m deeply inspired by Intelligent Design and driven to help you align with the natural rhythms and foods the Creator intended for vibrant health.

In my free time, I love immersing myself in nature, enjoying ethnic food, playing sand volleyball, and engaging in meaningful conversations. When we work together, you can expect me to be fully invested, energized, and just as passionate as you are about discovering the healthy, thriving version of yourself. Now it’s your turn—let’s get started on your journey to wellness!

What is Functional Medicine?

Functional Medicine is an approach designed for chronic health issues that seeks to uncover the root cause of symptoms rather than simply masking them. Instead of treating the symptom—like prescribing a statin for high cholesterol—we ask why the body is out of balance. Take, for example, a woman in her 40s who is overweight, exhausted, constipated, and told she needs medication for her elevated cholesterol. Conventional medicine might stop there, but in Functional Medicine, we dig deeper. Through a comprehensive approach, we may find she actually has undiagnosed hypothyroidism, even though her TSH falls within the "normal" range. Addressing her thyroid function properly could help correct her cholesterol, energy levels, and digestion—without the need for unnecessary medication.

Similarly, someone diagnosed with fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue might be struggling with something overlooked—like low stomach acid. This can lead to nutrient deficiencies, neurological issues, and persistent exhaustion. By investigating further, we might uncover an H. pylori infection suppressing stomach acid production, leading to poor digestion and low B12 levels. Once addressed, their energy, cognitive function, and overall well-being can improve dramatically.

Functional Medicine is like being a medical detective—looking for the missing pieces that help restore the body’s natural ability to heal. With the right nutrients, lifestyle shifts, and targeted interventions, we can remove what harms and provide what heals, guiding people toward lasting wellness.

What to Expect - the General Process

  • Gather Data & Set Goals

This is where I get to know your detailed history and lifestyle as a whole as well as your symptoms and goals. We’ll establish a priority list from which to choose additional labwork - both from your PCP and/or functional labs (if applicable). At the end of the first visit, you will have a lifestyle plan, supporting materials, menu plan/recipes and lifestyle log/journal. Depending on what plan you choose, we will meet more frequently or wait until lab results are back to schedule a Review of Findings Visit.

  • Support the Journey & Dive Deeper

The middle part of the journey may be continued regular coaching sessions to help you implement the nutrition and lifestyle pieces with accountability and assistance, and/or a deep dive into functional medicine testing to find imbalances that have kept you stuck for years. The Review of Findings Visit is where we’d review results from such tests and make a customized plan for you based on results we obtain. Remember - wellness is a lifelong journey, so no matter what you choose, lifestyle will be a cornerstone in our plan.

  • Empower & Fine-Tune

Follow-Up Visits are to support as you go through change and make adjustments and tweaks as needed. We will use your lifestyle journal or whatever method of tracking you choose and determine how your body is responding to the adaptations in lifestyle, supplements and nutrition we’ve given it. Overall, my goal will be to match your original one (such as “weight loss”) by restoring your body to its optimal function and balance. The end goal will be to empower you to be on the minimum amount of supplements and develop long-lasting habits and reboot strategies for when you fall off track that you can use for life.

“A goal without a plan is just a wish.”
